Lake Winnemucca and Round Top peak …just too many memories here really. I have Camped here with my sons, and friends, and hiked here with brothers. This is an EASY day-hike with stunning beauty.
It is very accessible on California Hwy 88 at Carson Pass. There is great history in this region too. Dollar for dollar it offers probably the best scenery for the least effort of any trip I’ve taken in the Sierra Nevada. For that reason it can get crowded, even with XC skiers in the winter. Mid July usually offers terrific wildflower views.
